Genetic Testing: A Powerful Tool for Patient Education and Personalizing Chronic Disease Care Dr. Karly Powell
As genetic testing becoming increasingly ubiquitous, many patients are either testing on their own without medical supervision or are too terrified of bad news to consider testing. This lecture will highlight testing of modifiable genetic risk factors as a tool to empower patients in making lifestyle and nutritional choices for chronic disease prevention. We will use cased-based examples to discuss the clinical utility of genomics in Alzheimer’s disease, ADHD, MCAS, and osteoporosis care.
